McFarland State Park & Visitors Center
24 Ruggles St, Florence
The history of the park’s building provides visitors with a look into the past. The building represents a transition between Sonoran and Anglo-American architecture with its wood-shingled pitched roof surmounting traditional adobe brick walls. Like most buildings in Territorial Arizona, the original 1878 structure was constructed by hand using native materials. Soil from the area was used to make adobe bricks which were laid on a trench foundation filled with river rocks. All lumber for the floors and roof was hauled by wagon from northern Arizona.

Our private non-profit museum, founded in 1958, preserves Florence’s history with diverse exhibits from pre-contact to the 1950s. St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Monastery
4784 St Joseph's Way, Florence
St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Monastery is a Greek Orthodox monastery standing in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. It was established in the summer of 1995 in the name of Saint Anthony the Great. It is home for approximately 42 monks. It is open to both Orthodox and non-Orthodox visitors. Pilgrims can arrange to stay at the monastery in guest facilities, and other visitors are invited daily from 10:30 A.M. to 4 P.M. Guests are asked to wear “modest and loose-fitting” clothing along with shoes or sandals.
Tom Mix Memorial
West side of Highway 79
Visit the modest memorial marking where Tom Mix died just south of Florence on the beautiful Route 79 between mile marker 115 and 116. The inscription reads “In memory of Tom Mix whose spirit left his body on this spot and whose characterization and portrayals in life served to better fix memories of the old West in the minds of living men.”
Windmill Winery

PEG Arts Center
270 North Pinal Street, Florence
The Pedro E. Guerrero Arts Center (PEG Arts) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization, established in 2022 and located in an historic 1880 adobe in the historic district of Florence, Arizona. The Center is named in honor of Guerrero, an internationally recognized photographer who made his home here and who serves as the inspiration for the artists, musicians and other creators who founded the center.
